Terms & Conditions

 

 

By entering the STARS Awards these Terms and Conditions are accepted. These terms & conditions govern the STARS Awards and may be amended at any time:

  • Active membership of the North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA) is required to be considered for any award.
  • All award winners will be announced and recognized at the STARS Awards Gala; no winners will be announced in advance.
  • All entries must be submitted electronically; no entries will be accepted by other means.
  • Submitting an entry affirms permission to submit the entry, including any needed third-party approvals.
  • Entries must have been completed between stated dates; any entries submitted for outside of those dates will not be considered.
  • Entries must be received by the close of business on the stated deadlines. No exception to the deadline date will be made.
  • Entry materials cannot be exchanged or modified after the final deadline.
  • All entry materials become the property of NCHBA and may be featured in promotional material and/or the awards online gallery. (NCHBA will not post or share any building plans or other proprietary information.)
  • Entries received without the appropriate entry fees will not be considered.
  • Any entries received or finalized after the stated deadlines will not be considered.
  • Entry fees are based on the date when they entry was finalized, not on the date when the entry started.
  • All entry fees once submitted are non-refundable.
  • Each entry will be judged on its own merits by a panel of distinguished individuals selected for professional expertise in the home building industry.
  • If there is only one entrant in a category it does not automatically receive recognition. The entry must have an average score of 70% or higher based on the judging criteria and materials received.
  • Entries will not be re-categorized and will remain in the category as entered by the applicant. If they do not meet the criteria for the submitted category, they will not be considered.
  • Judges reserve the right to divide categories into sub-categories depending on the range of entries.
